Meet Carmen: Psychologist, Teacher and Parent

Hello, my name is Carmen Dominguez! I am a Registered Psychologist specializing in youth assessment. I also provide assessment for ASD and ADHD in children from 5 to 17 years old.

I have experience supporting children with various needs in my roles as a psychologist, teacher and parent.  

Assessments are an important tool for families, helping them understand their child’s strengths and areas needing additional support. Assessments also empower children, teaching them how they learn, think and process the world around them. When children know what works for them and what doesn’t, they begin to self-advocate.

I take a strength-based approach to assessment, focusing on what a child excel at, while also addressing areas requiring further attention. My work is rooted in a neurodiversity-affirming framework recognizing brain differences without pathologizing them; emphasizing the value of individuality; and fostering an environment where children can thrive on their own terms.
