Meet Siena: Literacy Instructor
Hi! My name is Siena, and as a firm believer in the power of lifelong learning, I’m eager to continue my journey as an educator.
Volunteering in specialized schools has given me valuable insight into the diverse ways students learn. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of fostering meaningful relationships with students. I believe such relationships are foundational to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to succeed.
I am currently a teacher candidate at Mount Royal University, where I am dedicated to cultivating a passion for learning in all students. Over the past several years, I have gained experience tutoring and working closely with neurodiverse learners, strengthening my ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs.
This experience further supports my long-term goal of becoming an educator who prioritizes inclusive practices and student confidence. Outside of my academic and professional commitments, I maintain a balanced lifestyle through activities such as yoga and Pilates, and I value spending time with my new puppy, Nash! He is a red/golden retriever. He loves to play with his toys, go on walks, and find as many sticks as he can!!
