ADHD

Assessment Details

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is part of the neurodivergent spectrum. Children with ADHD are wired differently, but like neurotypical brains there are things that they excel at and things that need extra support.

Some common signs we see in ADHD students:

  • Longstanding challenges with focus, organization, reading, spelling and/or writing

  • Difficulty with starting and/or completing tasks involving attention, memory and/or problem-solving

  • Issues related to anxiety, low mood, strong emotional reactions

  • Audio-processing delays, which can come off as inattentive

Understanding the strengths of this neurotype as early as possible, instead of waiting to fail, will set your child on the right path for a lifetime of success.

What it Does

Avery provides personalized, evidence-based ADHD assessments for students ages 5 to 17 years. This assessment examines cognitive and executive function, perceived inattentiveness, impulsivity, hyperactivity and/or anxiety.

We will then have a comprehensive, sustainable framework for support. This assessment will be your documented advocacy to ensure your child has maximum access to the supports available.

Getting Started

At Avery, an assessment isn't a "test." It's a chance to learn about your child, their strengths, struggles, and goals.

The assessment journey starts with a consultation to discuss your concerns.
The consultation lasts 30 minutes.

After we have assessed the best path forward we will set up the first session.
